A classic rock band originally from Australia is returning to the Calumet Theater for Veteran’s Day.
With more than $30 million in album sales, the Little River Band is celebrating their 40th anniversary,
They rocked the house in 2004 and three of the five members from that performance will be back, including lead singer Wayne Nelson.
Executive Director of the Calumet Theater Laura Miller said, “Wayne Nelson was the lead singer in years five and six when this band had six consecutive years of top ten hits and no band in the history of music has ever done that. Wayne is still in the band, this band is every bit as fresh as they were in the day and they continue to play on.”
The theater is able to offer a discount for veterans thanks to grants from the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Miller said, “We’re offering veterans and their families and active military and everybody involved with veteran’s organizations a $5 off price on all the seats throughout the theater and we’re hoping that they’ll come out and enjoy a good show.”
The Little River Band comes to Calumet for Veterans Day, November 11th.
