The Forest Service seeks to support projects that reduce the risk of wildfires, improve water quality, or restore wildlife habitat. The USDA Forest Service Eastern Region has begun accepting grant applications for the Landscape Scale Restoration program. The Landscape Scale Restorations program provides grants supporting projects that reduce wildfire risks, improve water quality, restore habitats, and mitigate damaging insect and disease infestation across the district’s 17 national forests and national prairie. Organizations eligible for the program include state and local government agencies, tribes, nonprofit organizations, and universities. The program also has a national component that will seek to work with federally recognized tribal governments. Applications for the Landscape Scale Restoration grant program will close on November 17th.
