A stretch of US-2 in Norway now bears the name of a fallen local hero. Among the bills Governor Rick Snyder signed as the lame duck legislative session came to a close last week was a measure designating the road as “Kenneth J. Moraska Memorial Highway.” Moraska was a Norway Police officer who was shot to death while responding to a domestic disturbance in 1971. Moraska’s sister, Mari Negro, says she hopes the dedication will remind all of us to appreciate those who put their lives on the line for our safety.
