UPSET Detectives Have Busy Week

Three suspects have been arrested after an investigation stemming from a search warrant executed by UPSET detectives back in February.

Detectives say 29-year-old Cody Jack Anderson, 61-year-old Judy Anderson, and 38-year-old Tracy Selby were arrested late last week.

Both Cody and Judy Anderson were charged with two counts of admitting to a place of prostitution.

Shelby was charged with one count of resisting and obstructing.

A search warrant was executed on the Gould City Motel on February 11th, and evidence obtained led to arrest warrants for the three being issued by 92nd District Court.

UPSET detectives say additional arrests are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigations by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team into the sale and distribution of illegal prescription narcotics have landed seven more Escanaba residents in jail.

UPSET detectives say the seven were arrested at separate locations within the City of Escanaba over the past three weeks for delivery of Suboxone or Subutex, also known as buprenorphine.

This comes after a large bust on March 25th, when detectives took fourteen other Escanaba residents into custody.

Since that initial bust, detectives say they have arrested a total of 24 people on 39 counts in Delta County.

An Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team investigation in Chippewa County on Tuesday resulted in the seizure of marijuana and additional evidence.

UPSET detectives say they seized 85 marijuana plants, $3,900 in drug proceeds, and grow equipment from a residence in Kinross as a result of an investigation involving the illegal sale, distribution, and manufacturing of marijuana.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Detectives from UPSET were assisted by troopers from the Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post.
