Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center Continues Expansion – May 23, 2014 – Todd VanDyke
Access to the health care system will get a little easier for some Ontonagon County residents today… as the Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center takes over management of the Ontonagon Community Health Center. UGL is designated as a federally qualified health center. CEO Donald Simila says that gives them the ability to accept all patients… regardless of the patient’s ability to pay… SIMILA A. The Ontonagon clinic is part of UGL’s expansion from Marquette County across the western Upper Peninsula… which already includes management of all of Portage Health’s family clinics in the Copper Country. Simila says the sliding fee scale for low-income patients is available at all those locations, too… even for existing clients… SIMILA B. You can learn more by talking with one of those counselors, or visiting the Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center website here. Don Simila will be my guest Sunday morning on Copper Country Today.
