The Upper Peninsula Power Company says 9,000 fish have been stocked at the Boney Falls Reservoir in Delta County. The Ishpeming-based power company reports final upgrades to the hydroelectric facility near Bruce Crossing are now complete and the reservoir is being returned to normal operating levels. The fish were brought in to offset possible impacts by a number of construction projects at the reservoir in the last few years. UPPCO recently released 3,000 Perch, 4,000 Blue Gill and 2,000 Crappie into the reservoir waters. The fish were all in the 3 to 5 inch range in size. The stocking of the fish was permitted and coordinated with the local Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Department.
