Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates in February decreased moderately in all of the state’s 17 major labor market areas.
According to the Department of Technology, Management & Budget, total employment levels increased over the month in most areas, while labor force levels were mixed throughout the various regions.
Spokesman Jason Palmer says jobless rates fell throughout the state in February, but the more important trend was the significant jobless rate reductions over the past year.
The Ann Arbor area had the state’s lowest jobless rate in February at three-point-four percent while Northeast Lower Michigan had the highest at 10.3%.
Michigan‘s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February was 5.9%.
