Today, the U.P. Food Exchange will be making one of its three stops on its annual Together at the Table local food summits in each region of the Upper Peninsula. The event will be held at Michigan Tech in the Memorial Union Building. New this year will be an afternoon meet and greet session to provide an opportunity for farmers and potential local food buyers to network, make plans to partner, discuss each other’s challenges and work together to get more local foods in schools, restaurants and businesses. Other topics include: Understanding Community Food Systems, What’s Up with The U.P. Food Exchange and regional food hub updates. Registration begins this morning at 8 and the summit will go on until 3:30.
