UPDATE: Two Women Stabbed in Hubbell

A 48-year-old woman is dead after a stabbing incident took place early this morning in Hubbell. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call early this morning at 3:30 a.m. about a stabbing in Hubbell from a 14 year old female who also sustained multiple stab wounds. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and after a short search, the 42 year old male suspect was found in the woods near the house at approximately 5:25am and taken into custody. He is currently lodged in the Houghton County jail on felony aggravated assault charges and the Sheriff’s office is seeking appropriate murder charges from the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is still ongoing. The 14 year old female was taken to Aspirus Hospital for treatment. We will keep you posted on this situation as more information is available.
