Two Vehicle Crash in Downtown Houghton Sends Two to UPHS – Portage

A two vehicle crash in downtown Houghton sends two people to the hospital around 12:40 pm Friday. A car driven by a 59-year-old Hancock man collided with a motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old man from Brighton, Michigan at the intersection of Shelden Avenue and Pewabic Street. Both the motorcycle driver and the 19-year-old woman riding with him were transported to UP Health Systems –Portage by Mercy Ambulance. The Houghton Police Department was assisted by Houghton County Sheriff, and MTU Public Safety. The investigation is ongoing.
