Two U.P. Lawmakers Voice Support For Removing Gray Wolf From Endangered Species List

A move on Capitol Hill to remove the gray wolf from the endangered species list is good news to a pair of state lawmakers from the Upper Peninsula.

State Representative Ed McBroom says the animal’s population is booming in Michigan and it should be removed from the endangered species list.

He says the entire culture of the U.P. is being adversely affected by the gray wolves.

State Representative Scott Dianda says there are so many wolves wandering the U.P. they’re routinely seen in town in some western U.P. communities.

A bill passed out of a U.S. Senate committee this week to remove the gray wolf from the endangered species list in four states, including Michigan.
