Two Teenagers Involved In Rollover Accident

The Ontonagon’s Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Personal Injury accident (rollover) on M38 near Calumet Rd.

The accident happened Sunday, July 12th around 12:30 p.m.

The driver a 16 year old Greenland female was traveling on M-38 when her passenger side tires left the paved roadway and onto the shoulder of the road.

She tried to get the vehicle back onto the roadway, but when doing so over corrected and the vehicle lost control, skidding across the oncoming lane of traffic and onto the opposite shoulder of the roadway and overturned.

The driver was not injured in the accident.

The male passenger, a 17 year old Greenland male was injured and transported by Sonco Ambulance to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by M64 towing of Ontonagon.

The sheriff’s Office was assisted by Ontonagon Fire Dept.
