Two People Rescued After Boat Is Capsized

Two people are safe, having been rescued in Lake Superior after their boat was capsized.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says the overturned vessel was reported around 11:40am Wednesday.

The two occupants were in the water off Big Traverse Bay.

Both individuals were pulled out by a private citizen that was alerted by a neighbor of the persons in the water.

There were no injuries but the 14’ Hubby Craft they were on was a loss due to the rough lake conditions.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Bootjack First Responders as well as the U.S. Coast Guard.
