Two Houghton County Women Bound Over On Charges Of Trying To Pass Drugs To Jail Inmate

The case against two Houghton County women accused of passing drugs to a jail inmate is moving forward.

Ekdahl-McMahon Prelims29-year-old Jamie Ekdahl of Calumet and 35-year-old Sarah McMahon of Laurium both appeared in 97th District Court Wednesday.

They are charged with Delivery/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, a felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison; and Furnishing Contraband to Prisoners, a 5 year felony.

In April, authorities say the women allegedly tried to give a controlled substance to an inmate at the Houghton County Jail after he appeared for a court hearing.

They are currently lodged in the Houghton County Jail on $10,000 cash bonds.
