The Houghton County Sheriff Department investigated a one vehicle personal injury crash Tuesday morning just before 9:00am.
The crash occurred on the Lake Gerald Road near Twin Lakes in Elm River Township.
A 2010 Chevy Avalanche was being driven westbound on Lake Gerald Road by a 26-year-old woman from Twin Lakes and was the lone occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The woman lost control of the vehicle on a corner of the road and struck a large tree. The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Hurontown Fire Department with the Jaws of Life.
The woman was then transported to U.P. Health System—Portage by Mercy Ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
Her condition has not been reported.
The driver was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
