Trooper’s Car Hit By Drunk Driver

A Michigan State Police Trooper is fortunate not to be hurt after another driver slammed into his vehicle.

The trooper from the Negaunee Post was sitting in his patrol car during a traffic stop at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, when the other car crashed into his.

The accident happened on the shoulder of M-28 near Kawbawgam Road.

According to the Michigan State Police, the driver of the vehicle was drunk.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Marquette County Jail.

The trooper was not injured, but the police vehicle was damaged on the left rear side.

The suspect is expected to appear in District Court.
