The Baraga County Circuit Court trial for the two Wisconsin men who posed as U.S. Marshals and held two Watton residents at gunpoint during a robbery last summer was postponed until late June after one of the defendants asked for a new attorney. 47-year-old Bernard Fish and 21-year-old Donavan Waupoose had been scheduled to go to trial next week on a number of charges but a new lawyer for Fish has just taken over his case. Waupoose and Fish are accused of breaking into a home back in August, identified themselves as federal agents and then held the occupants hostage in exchange for a 10,000 dollar ransom. They didn’t get the money but eventually left with wallets and a handgun. Their trial is now scheduled to take place the week of June 23. Fish and Waupoose will next appear in court April 16 for motions to try the two cases separately.
