TNC hosts fall heart the heartlands activities in Ocotober

While coming to know the community the Nature Conservancy has come to Heart the Heartlands. Over the summer the Nature Conservancy hosted a series of community recreation opportunities within the Keweenaw heartlands. The group has plans to continue the program into the fall with a little leaf-peeping planning tomorrow and next week.

Fall has fantastic weather, views, and recreation opportunities says Keweenaw Heartlands Project Manager Julia Petersen. Tomorrow the Nature Conservancy will have cider and donuts while taking in the view at Brockway Mountain, from 10 a.m. to 11 am. Community leaders and TNC officials plan to attend the event and talk with the public about potential improvements to the area.

Then on October 12thTNC partners with the Keweenaw ATV club for a slow ride on the trails taking in the change of scenery. The roughly four-and-a-half mile ride will start from the mariner north in Copper Harbor at 10 am. The nature conservancy encourages attendees to register for either event.
