MLB – Tigers Blank Tribe
David Price turned in a complete-game shutout, as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Indians 4-0 last night. Price scattered seven hits, and struck out eight. Miguel Cabrera drove in all of Detroit’s runs, with a mammoth 452-foot three-run homer to center field in the sixth inning, and a double in the eighth.

The Tigers host the Indians again this afternoon. Justin Verlander will make his first start, after missing the entire season with a strained triceps. Carlos Carrasco will pitch for Cleveland. Hear the first pitch at 4:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Greene
Greene

The Tigers sent starting pitcher Shane Greene down to Toledo yesterday. Greene was the talk of baseball when he began the season with three dominant victories. In his last three starts, though, he had given up 16 runs on 21 hits over just nine innings. Kyle Ryan will fill his spot in the rotation, for now. Detroit also sent reliever Angel Nesbitt to the Mud Hens. Like Greene, Nesbitt had found early success this season, but had struggled recently with his control.

Aramis Ramirez
Ramirez

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Washington Nationals 8-4 last night. Aramis Ramirez had three doubles, and drove in four runs. Mike Fiers gave up three runs over seven innings to earn the win.

The Brewers host the Nationals again this afternoon. Jimmy Nelson will start against Joe Ross.

Carlos Gomez could be back in the Milwaukee lineup today. He’s missed the last three games with a nagging hip problem.
