MLB – Tigers Blast Cubs
The Detroit Tigers scored early and often, and pounded the Chicago Cubs 15-8 last night. Detroit starting pitcher Daniel Norris homered in his first professional at-bat. Nick Castellanos hit two home runs, including a grand slam. Rajai Davis and J.D. Martinez also went deep for Detroit. Norris later left the game with a strained oblique muscle. He’s expected to be placed on the disabled list.

The Tigers return home to host the Rangers tonight. Alfredo Simon will start against Martin Perez. Hear the first pitch at 7:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Before yesterday’s game, Detroit called up reliever Drew VerHagen from Toledo, First baseman Jefry Marte was sent down.

The Milwaukee Brewers held off the Miami Marlins 8-7 last night. Khris Davis homered twice for Milwaukee, and Ryan Braun broke Robin Yount’s team home run record with a solo shot.

The Brewers have today off, and open a set at Washington tomorrow night. Jimmy Nelson will pitch against Gio Gonzalez.

Lions Preseason Game Tonight
The Detroit Lions host Washington tonight in their second preseason game.

The Packers play at Pittsburgh on Sunday.
