According to Bridge Magazine, three school districts in the Copper Country made their list of the top ten percent of school districts that exceeded expectations in 2013. The list is used to view classroom performance relative to socioeconomic status. Calumet, Laurium and Keweenaw Public Schools had the highest rank at number 9 in the state. Chassell Public schools ranked 27th, with their 11th graders performing well at their 17th place rank in the state. Dollar Bay-Tamarack also made the list at number 33.
