Three Pets Perish In Ontonagon House Fire

Just 8:00pm Thursday, Deputies from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire at 414 Chippewa st. in the village of Ontonagon.

When one of the Deputies arrived on scene smoke was visible throughout both floors of the home.

The Ontonagon Village Fire dept. responded to the fire.

The structure sustained interior damage and 3 pets were found deceased inside.

No other injuries were reported.

The owners were not home at the time of the fire.

The family was assisted by Red Cross.
