Three Hurt in Houghton Crash

Three people were injured during a traffic crash last evening at the intersection of M-26 and Sharon Avenue. Houghton police tell us that a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Hancock man turned into the path of an oncoming car at around 8:20. The Hancock man was not hurt. The 22-year-old Lake Linden woman driving the other car sought her own treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers were taken by ambulance to UP Health System-Portage. Their conditions have not been released. Police have not revealed any of the names of those involved, nor have they identified which vehicle or vehicles the injured passengers were riding in. Officers do say that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
