The State Says Propane Users Should Lock Contracts Now

Michigan’s propane users are being encouraged to lock in their price now.

Judy Palnau of the Michigan Agency for Energy (MAE) says propane supplies are above the five-year average.

She says signing propane contracts now, rather than waiting for the heating season, can result in cheaper rates for customers.

Palnau also says it’s good to establish a relationship with a propane provider early, because it may be hard to get a contract if there is a propane shortage.
