The Escanaba Electric Department fired up its new “temporary” substation on Thursday.
The substation was built to replace the one that exploded on February 2nd. It replaces a portable substation that’s been on loan to the city from We Energies since the explosion happened.
The cause of the blast has not yet been determined.
