Michigan Tech’s annual fall movie festival has announced its film line-up… and a new name. The weekend that’s been known for nine years as the Northern Lights Film Festival will now be called the 41 North Film Festival. Featured films include Mark Levinson’s documentary Particle Fever… which follows six scientists involved in the launch of the Large Hadron Collider — the biggest and most expensive experiment in the history of the planet. Levinson will also speak on campus. Filmmaker Geeta Patel will present her new romantic comedy/documentary, Meet the Patels. The film recently won the Founders Grand Prize for best film at the Traverse City Film Festival. Patel’s father, Vasant Patel, is a Michigan Tech alumus. Four other feature films and some additional shorts will also be screened. The 41 North Film Festival will be held October 23rd through 26th. You’ll find full details here.
