Festival Ruska and the silver screen come together today as the fall festival continues.
During her career, Finnish actress Taina Elg has been on screen with Gene Kelly, Barbara Streisand and Jeff Bridges, among others.
She’s had roles in soaps such as “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.” She’s been on many other TV shows, and in numerous stage plays and musicals.
And on Wednesday, she’ll be in Hancock.
Finnish American Heritage Center’s Jim Kurtti talks about her presentation.
The 85-year-old veteran of screen and stage will offer folks a behind-the scenes glimpse of her life as a Hollywood star.
Elg will present at 6 p.m. at Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center.
The program is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the City of Hancock’s Finnish Theme Committee.
Unfortunately, one Festival Ruska event will not be taking place.
The tour that was scheduled for this Friday was cancelled due to low registration numbers.
All other events are still on as scheduled.
