SUPPORT YOUR CAUSE TOUR – stops at the Calumet Theatre

Enjoy a great concert while you support three of the Copper Country’s 501(c)3 favorite non-profit organizations.  The Calumet Theatre, Copper Country Humane Society, and Dial Help have partnered together to bring you an evening of good music and fun.  The fundraiser concert is set for Sunday, December 27 at 7:30 pm.  Along with great music, the evening features an attractive door prize: two free tickets to a future Calumet Theatre performance.

The historic Calumet Theatre is the last stop of Scott Helmer’s – Support Your Cause Tour for 2015. Independent touring and recording artist Scott Helmer, opener for iconic acts such as Heart, Eddie Money, and 3 Doors Down, is spending an entire year traveling more than 25,000 miles across America, performing 200+ concerts  to help raise $1 million for good causes.  The entertainer offers to all nonprofits across America an upbeat, energetic solo-acoustic 90 minute set of rock and country favorites along with original material from his new CD, Wake Me When It’s Over, free of his artist fee so all income goes to the fundraiser cause.

Dial Help serves over 6000 people per year byoffering:  24/7 crisis and suicide hotlines, instant messaging, crisis texting, walk-in, referral, and information services. It also provides counseling, family support services, crime victim assistance services, specialized behavioral education, and substance abuse treatment and prevention programs.  Its mission is to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our communities by providing problem assistance, crisis intervention, referrals, education and training.

Copper Country Humane Society is dedicated to the welfare and humane treatment of animals. It is through monthly fundraising events and private donations that CCHS is able to care for more than 900 animals each year. Animal care includes veterinarian care, spaying/neutering, and other medical needs. CCHS is a local non–profit organization and not part of any state or national organization.

The Calumet Theatre, the oldest performing arts venue in the Upper Peninsula and a Heritage Site in the Keweenaw National Historical Park, is raising funds to install an elevator to the second floor of the Theatre to make the Red Jacket Ballroom and the first balcony wheelchair accessible. Donors who contribute $25 or more will receive a “Lift Us Up” button to show their support for this highly anticipated, much needed project.

The suggested donation for the general seating concert is $21. For a $30 donation you’ll have a concert seat, receive a Scott Helmer CD, and a “Lift Us Up” elevator supporter button from the Calumet Theatre. Your donation will be equally shared by each organization to fund their projects.

For more information or to obtain tickets in advance, call the Calumet Theatre Box Office at 337-2610 from 12 to 5 pm Wednesday through Friday. The historic Theatre is located at 340 Sixth Street in Calumet. The website iswww.calumettheatre.com.
