Super Heroes from across the galaxy united last night in Downtown Houghton to raise money for a local charity.

 Art Heart is an event that took place at the Magnusen and was created by Black Ice Comics Owner Shana Porteen and actress Patricia Summersett who would like to make it an annual event after the successful turn out.

The gathering was a convention-like style celebration of arts, comics, and video games bringing many patrons in attendance… in the costume of their favorite super hero.

Several local artists utilized to opportunity to display their work, much of which is available for purchase at the comic store or at the Copper Country Community Arts Center.

All of the proceeds from last night’s event will benefit the Omega House.

Summersett, a native of L’Anse who is known for her voice work as Princess Zelda, to the gaming community took the opportunity to sign autographs and meet with fans, while others enjoyed a video game tournament, and a board game.

The event also included a silent auction further benefitting the charity.
