Study Says Michigan Is Soft On Reckless Driving

A new study says Michigan is among the more lenient states in its treatment of speeders and reckless drivers.

Wallethub.com’s study looked a areas such as speeding enforcement, penalties for reckless driving, cost of insurance, the use of automatic speed cameras, penalties for aggressive driving, and whether there’s jail time for a first offense.

Overall, Michigan was 38th toughest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Michigan actually is tougher than most states on speeders, at 19th overall.

But when it comes to reckless driving related laws, Michigan is 48th.

Colorado is the strictest overall. Texas is the most lenient.
