Strongest El Nino Ever Being Reported

Folks in the South are going to have a wet winter. But you can expect drier conditions in the Great Lakes.

Federal forecasters announced one of the strongest El Niños on record will bring rain and cooler temperatures to southern states.

Most of the western and northern states will be treated to milder winter temperatures.

El Niño is a warming of the Pacific Ocean and the resulting weather pattern will bring rain and snow to drought-stricken California.

NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center says it will be a drier than normal winter in the northern Rockies, the northern Plains, around the Great Lakes and Alaska.

The Upper Peninsula is expected to see less snow and warmer temperatures this winter.
