Chassell Township Schools Superintendent George Stockero has been named the new superintendent of the Copper Country Intermediate School District. Stockero says he is very thankful for the opportunity to serve the Copper Country. He adds that he will continue to have an “open door” policy with people who have questions or concerns and he plans to have a good relationship with all of the other superintendents. At a special meeting last night, Stockero beat out two other candidates for the position, Houghton-Portage Township Schools Superintendent Doreen Klingbeil and CLK Public Schools Superintendent Daryl Pierce. He will take over for former CCISD Superintendent Dennis Harbour.
