The State of Michigan is preparing to rank colleges based on the services offered to armed forces veterans. The Veteran-Friendly School program will award bronze-, silver- or gold-level status based on criteria including an on-campus veterans coordinator, active veterans clubs, a veteran-centered website, and programs to help veterans who graduate find jobs. Colleges have until July 13th to apply for the endorsement. Results will be released in August. Michigan Tech recently was named the 28th-best public college in the nation for veterans by U.S. News and World Report. Read more about the program here.
