State to Bring Safe Drinking Water, Filters to People in Flint

Michigan State Police troopers will soon be going door-to-door in Flint to ensure people have water filters and bottled water.

It’s part of the state’s latest response to the Flint water crisis. Governor Rick Snyder made the announcement in Flint Monday.

He is also putting together a committee to plan for the long-term safety of Flint’s drinking water.

The governor recently declared a state of emergency for Flint opening the door to more state resources.

He says the state is also putting together a request for federal help.

And as for when the governor learned of the lead problems in Flint’s drinking water, a question that has dogged him for weeks, Snyder says the situation became clear to him on October 1st.
