Michigan State Police say, like in previous years, they have had to deal with snowmobile fatalities in the state.
1st Lieutenant Gregg Cunningham of the Gladstone State Police post says many of the accidents involve novice riders.
And they often occur when snowmobilers are going too fast when they approach a curve. Alcohol is also factor in many crashes.
He suggests slowing down and following trail markers. Many of the trails are monitored by sheriff’s deputies and DNR officials on snowmobile.
