State Panel Shoots Down Language For Two Recall Petitions

Language for a petition to recall Michigan’s governor and a northern Michigan state senator have been rejected by a state board.

Detroit pastor Angelo Scott Brown has tried two other times to get a petition approved to recall Governor Rick Snyder over his handling of the Flint water crisis.

Both times his petition language was rejected, and this time was no different.

The Board of State Canvassers says the latest petition language was not factually clear.

A petition to recall State Senator Wayne Schmidt, a Traverse City Republican, because he voted for a $1.2 billion road funding plan was also shot down.

The panel says that petition also wasn’t clear.
