State Official Testifies He Knew About Legionnaire's Outbreak Long Before Telling Snyder

Nick Lyon, director of the state’s Department of Health and Human Services, says there was an eight month spell between when he was told about a Legionnaire’s outbreak in Genesee County and when the issue again came to his attention.

Testifying before lawmakers regarding Flint’s water emergency, Lyon said then waited another four months before telling Governor Snyder.

The county has reported at least 91 Legionnaires’ cases and 12 deaths.
