Michigan’s COVID-19 rate continues to skyrocket.
Yesterday afternoon, Governor Gretchen Whitmer noted that the average daily diagnosis rate now is three times higher than it was in June, and has doubled in the last three weeks.
The governor noted that the spike began after the state Supreme Court ruled that the law upon which she based her emergency authority was unconstitutional, although rates in many other states are following the same trend.
Yet, even as the governor pleaded with Michiganders to keep themselves and their neighbors safe by wearing masks and maintaining distance, a chiropractor from Grand Haven filed a lawsuit, challenging the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ authority to require masks in public places.
