A Senate Appropriations Subcommittee in Lansing today will take on a troubling statistic: Michigan is home to three of the top ten most dangerous cities in America.
Co-Chair John Proos says that while overall violent crime is down significantly in the state, Detroit, Flint and Saginaw still make the list of most violent crimes per capita.
Violent crimes in Michigan dropped about 30,000 from 160,000 per year. Proos says 130,000 is still a significant number.
