Some Say Fewer High-Security Inmates A Sign Of Bigger Problem

The number of high-security inmates in Michigan prisons has declined over the last 20 years, according to Department of Corrections data.

But corrections officers are alleging that the numbers are down because the department is lowering security classifications in an attempt to save money.

Their union says if the numbers are being pushed down, it could be dangerous and lead to violent encounters.
