Rules For Taking Your Thanksgiving Meal On A Plane

The Transportation Security Administration has a reminder for Thanksgiving travelers.

Leave those liquids at home, leave gifts unwrapped and have those ID’s ready.

The TSA says you can bring certain food items, but pack them.

Items such as pies and cakes are allowed in your carry-on but may require further inspection.

If you are not sure if a food item is considered a liquid or gel, it is best to pack the item in a checked bag or ship it to your destination in advance.

You can bring a cooked turkey on the plane as well, but it has to be packed in a carry-on or checked bag.
