Pure Michigan is back.
After a hiatus caused by budget cuts, a $1.2 million campaign to promote winter tourism was launched yesterday across the upper Midwest.
The video ad features the tagline “Still Pure Michigan.”
Target markets include Minneapolis and Green Bay, along with Fort Wayne, Toledo, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids and Traverse City. $500,000 of the money comes from 20 industry partners.
TravelUSA estimates that winter tourism generated $3.3 billion in traveler spending in Michigan in 2019.
Officials say they are also working on a spring and summer campaign.
