The governor of Ohio is asking supporters to donate to Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley’s possible 2018 campaign for governor.
The Detroit News reports John Kasich used his presidential election fundraising network to help in the effort.
According to a quarterly report, Calley had over $557,000 in cash on-hand in late October.
Attorney General Bill Schuette, a likely Calley rival for governor in 2018, has been raising money over the past two years.
He had over $706,000 in his campaign fund.
