No Change in Michigan’s Unemployment Rate

Michigan’s unemployment rate held steady in September.

Seasonally adjusted figures released by the state’s Department of Management and Budget pegged the rate at 4.2 percent. That’s seven-tenths of a point above the national average, and three-tenths of a point higher than a year ago.

Statistics used were collected before the United Auto Workers strike against General Motors began.
