Michigan State Police detectives are trying to track down the person who did some illegal climbing on the Mackinac Bridge.
Photos apparently taken from the top of one of the bridge towers were recently posted on social media.
Officials think the climb may have taken place in early November, on a morning when a couple of the bridge’s warning alarms were triggered.
Mackinac Bridge Authority Executive Secretary Kim Nowack called the stunt “inexcusably reckless,” noting that the climber endangered his or her own life, along with the safety of those traveling across the bridge, and any first responders who might have been called out for a rescue, had one been needed.
Michigan Department of Transportation Director Paul Ajegba has asked bridge staff to review and upgrade security.
