Michigan will be in the spotlight at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia today.
U.S. Senator Gary Peters is scheduled to speak this afternoon at the convention. Flint Mayor Karen Weaver and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan are also expected to speak later today.
Weaver is expected to discuss how Congress did not allocate enough money to help the city fix problems connected to the water crisis.
She is also expected to show appreciation to Hillary Clinton because she was the first candidate to talk and care about the water crisis.
Duggan is expected to talk about how Detroit is making a comeback.
Clinton made history last night when she became the first woman ever to win a major party’s presidential nomination.
Meantime, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is set to appear tonight in Toledo.
Trump’s running mate Mike Pence will be in Michigan Thursday, with stops in Oakland County and Grand Rapids.
