Michigan Rail Conference Begins

All things railroad will be discussed at the Michigan Rail Conference in Marquette today and tomorrow.

David Nelson, a senior research engineer with Michigan’s Tech’s Railroad Transportation program, says among the many issues to be talked about is a rail line from Ann Arbor to Traverse City.

Other sessions deal with the future of rail in Michigan, preserving, maintaining and enhancing Michigan rail assets, and Upper Peninsula tech companies supporting the rail industry.

Attendees will take a field trip tomorrow with stops at the Mineral Range Railroad & the CN Railroad Escanaba Ore Dock.
