Michigan Issues First Recreational Pot Licenses

Michigan’s first recreational marijuana licenses have been issued.

Tuesday, the Marijuana Regulatory Agency awarded license number one to Exclusive Brands of Ann Arbor. Exclusive Brands already produces marijuana for the medical market. Its new licenses will allow it to grow up to 1,500 plants, and process marijuana into other products, such as edibles or vaping distillate.

The first approved product testing company in Michigan is PSA Labs, also in Ann Arbor. PSI has been testing medical marijuana for four years.

The agency also approved an event organizers license for Real Leaf Solutions of Kalkaska, which hopes to coordinate one-time marijuana-based promotions.
