Legal Cases Against Accused Michigan Terrorists Begin

The legal cases against those facing state charges in the alleged attempt to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and attempt to overthrow the state government have begun.
• Paul Bellar of Milford is being held in South Carolina, where he is awaiting extradition;
• Shawn Fix of Belleville was arraigned Friday in Antrim County. Eric Molitor of Cadillac, Michael Null of Plainwell and William Null of Shelbyville were arraigned in Antrim County Thursday. Bond was set at $250,000 for each.
• Pete Musico and Joseph Morrison of Munith were arraigned Thursday in Jackson County. Cash bond was set at $10 million each.

Two of those charged are confirmed to be former U.S. Marines. Morrison was a member of a reserve unit in southwest Michigan until a couple of weeks ago. One of those facing federal charges, Daniel Harris, was a rifleman who was discharged last year. The Corps has issued a statement saying the alleged crimes “do not reflect the oath every Marine takes to support and defend the constitution.”

Harris and four of the other men facing federal charges will appear at bail hearings tomorrow. The fifth man is being held in Delaware, awaiting extradition to Michigan.
