The new year brings a jobs outlook that we haven’t seen in a decade.
CareerBuilder’s annual job forecast shows 40-percent of businesses planning to hire full-time workers over the next year.
The survey also shows 30-percent expect to hire part-time, permanent workers while half plan to hire contract or temporary workers.
The top jobs will be in information technology and customer service.
CareerBuilder CEO Matt Ferguson says one of the key challenges for employers will be bridging the talent gaps within their own organizations by either offering better wages or by helping to re-skill and up-skill workers.
The job forecast also shows a couple trends to watch.
Companies will be pressured to offer higher pay while also being open to hiring workers who are short on experience.
Job seekers will have to be more savvy on social media.
